These pages provide an insight into one of my greatest hobbies - photography.
I also want to gradually publish other things that interest me, such as bookbinding and the production of individual boxes and generally working with all kinds of paper.
I was fascinated by photography from a very early age. It started with a small pocket camera during primary school. That was a special experience - the camera had an orange shutter button that required a lot of force to trigger. My very first photo album shows that it did produce sharp images from time to time. And where were the first pictures taken? That's right, in the Stuttgart Wilhelma of course! The first usable one - one of the giraffes, which kindly leans into the picture.
Over time, I took photos with different 35mm cameras, first analog and then digital, and simply had fun doing it.
In 2009, I decided to get into SLR photography. That was a decisive step towards improving my skills. With the help of others, books, tutorials on the Internet, courses for beginners and constant trial and error, I got into it. And it has gradually become a wonderful hobby that I can't imagine life without.
Little by little, it became clear that I am particularly interested in macro photography and animal photography. But I also like to take trips to different cities to discover them by looking through the viewfinder.
Photography gives me the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective. Open to new motifs, I see my surroundings differently. New details become visible, my gaze falls on particular parts of reality, dimensions and colors become more vivid. And last but not least, it is good for me to catch the right moment with plenty of time and often a good portion of luck. I can find peace here. I once said: photography is my meditation.
I am increasingly enjoying sharing the pictures with others. That is where the idea for this website came from. It is fun to share the pictures and I am always happy to receive feedback - of course the positive feedback when other people also enjoy the pictures shown, but also the criticism that helps me to progress.
I hope all visitors to this site enjoy what I have to offer and, as I said, I am also happy to receive feedback.
